Course Description:

Taking into consideration the recent adoption of the DAC6 Directive by the European Union with regards to the mandatory automatic exchange of information in the field of taxation, and particularly in respect of reportable cross-border arrangements, as well as its forthcoming transposition into a national legislation (which will automatically apply on all providers of legal, accounting, corporate, administrative and other relevant professional services), there is an immediate and imperative need for training of a large number of professionals, in light of ensuring the correct application of the provisions of the Directive, in all affected sectors.  

 

Course Objectives:

The objective of the session is to provide the client with a brief explanation on the Mandatory Disclosure Regime in regards to DAC6 compliance. Participants will be informed of the framework of the EU Directive and national legislation.

The session will cover a general understanding on the hallmarks of the legislation framework and the obligations emanating for Member States, Relevant Taxpayers and Introducers.   

In the second part of the session we will cover practical examples in the form of case studies and discuss with participants the approach to a review of a Cross Border Arrangement (CBA) in relation to their line of business.

Professionals employed in sectors where the provision of services must be in line with the provisions of the European Directive for obligatory disclosure / exchange of information for cross-border arrangements (DAC6 and the relevant harmonizing legislation), including lawyers, accountants, tax advisors, auditors, providers of corporate / administrative services, and in general every person who designs, markets, organises or administers the implementation of a reportable cross-border arrangement.
