Strategic goals of organizations are achieved through effective project management. Project Management today has become one of the core functions of organizations regardless of their size or industry. Project management skills should be part of all managers and executives knowledge skills.
Projects are temporary management systems which provide organisations with the necessary flexibility in order to address the frequent and often abrupt changes in the business environment and intense competition. Beyond this, effective project management helps the organizations to optimise resource utilisation so that their strategic and business goals can be achieved within the constraints of each project.
Purpose of the course:
The purpose of the course is to provide the participants with the main principles and processes of project management, including a set of simple and practical, yet very effective tools identified thought years of experience and research in project management. These tools can increase the success possibilities of any project whether small or large and irrespective of industry or economic sector. Using a case study, participants will learn how to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and properly close a project.
During the seminar, the participant will have the chance to review the important project management elements as these are presented in the most popular project management methodologies such as the Project Management framework and standard.

Andreas Solomou is actively involved in the field of project management and education for more than 18 years. He has successfully managed a large number of product development projects as well as educational programs and currently works with private and government organisations as an external project manager and consultant. He is a Certified Project Manager (PMP)® and he holds an MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist) certification for project management using information systems. Andreas specialises in Project Management Standards and he is the National Delegate representing the Cyprus Organisation for Standardisation in the International Standardisation Organisation’s Technical Committee 258 that develops Portfolio, Programme and Project Standards.
He is a visiting lecturer at private and public academic institutes and an authorised trainer and consultant of the Cyprus Human Resource Development Authority. Andreas has more than 20000 classroom training hours and he has trained students, government and private organizations’ executives and employees on a wide range of programs with a success rate of 99% in certification exams and an average grade of 90%. He is the author of two books related to project management, one of which is an approved official course material for ECDL’s “Project Planning” Module examination program. He has also designed and delivers the ECDL’s Train-the-Trainers’ Project Planning program and also delivers the Train-the-Trainer certification course (CTP).
